Hey Folks, writing this topic again, first try didn't work (first post on this forum by the way).

I am a new houdini user, using it for environment work, and trying to get the best result out of Heighfields… Lot of great tools and tutorials, but I can't find out what is the best workflow, to export my terrain out of houdini, with splitted geometry and extract technical maps (flow / height , etc) with UDIM.

My terrain is pretty big, with a high resolution, so I would like to split it, poly reduce it to lower the polycount, and extract the meshes AND the maps.

Until now, I was trying the game dev tool sop_terrain_segment_rop, with a heightfield resample just before, but all my results are Houdini crashing, running out of Memory

Thx a lot for your help and advices

Cheers

Hey guys, not a very successful post, I've been looking for better and simpler solutions, and I just realised that the heighfield_tilesplit node, and the heightfield_output set to “Divide into tiled maps” could help me a lot.
A new question appears to me, how can I use a tilesplit in a for each loop ? I would like to : heighfield convert / poly reduce / and UV layout each tile on its own UDIM separately.
Any idea how i can do such a thing

cheers !
