Greetings and happy 2020,
i have recently downloaded the Apprentice version from the site and installed it.
i am a beginner in Houdini, but i understand 3D modelling a bit, moved over from Maya 3D.
i've got an issue with PolyExtrude:
As i understand it, i need to select primitives or polygons and then apply PolyExtrude, however when i select the primitives and then create the Extrude node, the selections go off, here's the whole picture:
i created a Geometry node, then in there, i created a box node, and then selected the primitives and then created a PolyExtrude node to get the inset (Individual Elements of course). So far so good, but when i add another PolyExtrude node to pull out the faces on the sides only, the whole box gets extruded and not the selected faces.
Then if i try the ‘individual elements’ the faces get extruded with the inset applied earlier, it is quite puzzling, i will attach a few screen shots for more clarity, i hope someone can help me understand what i am doing wrong, thanks in advance and wish you all a very fruitful 2020.
Totoo

not quite sure what you're trying to achieve - after first extrude i put another extrude node, and as i understand from your description this is the behaviour you're waiting for :?
and yes - happy 2020
