I'm looking for a way to split (group?) geometry based on a fixed grid (here 2x2). Individual meshes must stay together (not sharing faces between groups) and individual meshes must be in a single group.

I've tried a few things but couldn't get what I'm looking for. I'm new to Houdini.

It will be an HDA for game levels where I merge and polyreduce geometry by smaller grid based clusters.

Thanks!

Hey Loeizd,

I guess there are more ways to do this inside of Houdini than there are stars in the Milkyway
This is one way.

Cheers
