After deleting an object and even creating a new scene a wireframe ghost of the object stays visible in all the viewports. I've experienced similar quirks before.

No matter what I do, I can only get rid of the "ghost" object by restarting Houdini. All I did was load an Obj file, delete the SOP and create a new scene to see if it disappears.

Has anyone else seen something like this before ?

You could also try the "reset viewport" from the labs
Help > Reset Viewport

Yep, Houdini viewport has some issues sometimes. That's why they created that tool
