Hey MartinBoue,

I think this question is better suited for the Redshift Forums.
The Standard Material is the newer Redshift Material that was introduced in RS Version 3.5.
It has some new options and a simpler SSS workflow.

The Standard material is based on the Autodesk Standard surface material which has the goal to become a standard for various render engines, especially when used with MaterialX.
