Hello,

I am starting a series of grooms with Houdini 19.5 and have two questions related to guides.

1. How can I freeze guides? When sculpting, my brush will influence guides that I do not wish to manipulate.

2. What is the best way to change guide colours when working inside one Guide Groom?

At the moment I have attempted to use a Colour node underneath my Guide Groom node, but it will not override the main display. I know that I could split the groom into multiple grooms, and control the guide colouring from the main node. I'm not opposed to doing this but I was hoping to work inside one Guide Groom and utilize groups.

Thanks!

If you hold down the 'S' key you can select guides. Releasing S will place the guide prim numbers into the group field of the guidegroom SOP and any tools you use will only affect those guides, i.e. the non selected guides are frozen.

I think you can change the color of the guides on the guide groom object itself.

Nevermind that last bit, I missed the part where you're working in a single object
