Referring to the workflow mentioned in this video

Is there a way to snapshot the current live-rendering from the render gallery so the workflow becomes more streamlined as below:
1) snapshot current live-rendering (what I see in the render gallery).
2) it makes a thumbnail of the live-rendering, place it at the rightmost of snapshot strip, while places the snopshot to the left of live-rendering thumbnail.
3) set the snapshot to "B" side, and comparing to the live-rendering
This worflow feels to me more like what I have experienced in Katana/PRman, Arnold, and V-Ray framebuffer.
The road blocks I encounter are:
A) pressing the snapshot in Render Gallery, instead of taking the live-rendering, it took a snapshot of the Scene View, which is still in OpenGL mode where I manipulate lights.
B) In order to create a "A" side for comparison, I need to disconnect a clone render process (for the "B" side to exist in the snapshot strip, and connect again to create the "A" side.
In a nutshell, the current workflow feels a bit clunky in a way that, in order to save and compare to the latest live-rendering result, I HAVE to disconnect the clone render process first, and re-connect.
Hopefully I am missing something obvious.
