GPU OpenCL Requirements

Hello,

I'm new to houdini and am trying to use OpenCL with my GPU for some flip simulations. I have an RTX 3080 with 10GB of VRAM and noticed although my solver has the use OpenCL option on, there doesn't seem to be any actual load on my GPU and instead is heavily running on my CPU. I checked my preferences and saw that it is set to use my GPU for openCL but it just doesn't seem to be using it. I'm assuming this may be due to the fact that the documentation says it requires 12GB of VRAM, but I'm just going with wishful thinking that there may be a way to get around this? I'm short the 2GBs but wondering if anyone has theirs working with less than 12GB as well?

Thanks,

I'm using a system with a 4070 with 8GB, and it's been working pretty well but the tools here also show very little GPU load when using OpenCL. I do however see the clock speed on my GPU cranking up quite a bit, which suggests that there is load on it.

I've been wondering whether the utilization reported is just misleading because maybe it's very spike rather consistent? I don't know.
