Why does Houdini export to .usdnc and not to .usd?

Why does Houdini export to .usdnc and not to .usd?
I want to export a scene object to .usd not to .usdnc....I don't even know what usdnc is

The free demo exports copy protected files.

nc = non-commercial. Though it's interesting to see that there is an NC version of USD files, I thought it was just hip and hda files.

it exports in .usdnc but it deoes'nt works when we try to call them using refrence or scene import nodes
