ambient occlusion problem

I made some test with the voronoise fracture DOP.
I created some shading for my ground and my vase.

Everything is fine.

Now I am trying to add ambient occlusion. I follow an example provide in this site but there is no difference in my render ( so much slower btw).
I use template light and gilight shader node.
What's wrong in my scene please

you can test if the occlusion is really working if you turn off all the lights,
in that way will only render the occlusion and you can see if is really working.

ok it works now.

A big hemisphere I added to make a background was taken by the shader.

Is there a shader node to add background for a render. I come from Lightwave where there is this kind of features.
