Hello! I'm new here and in Houdini too, so I'm sorry for the stupid question but i can't solve this trouble without help.
1. problem 1. What's wrong with fur on tail (image 1). Had anybodies faced with this trouble?
2. problem 1 (look at image 2). I've assigned a color map (root color) on fur, but anyway it has same color from Hair color tab.
Please help me.
Tanks a lot!

What's wrong with fur on tail (image 1).
It looks like the bounding boxes given to Mantra are not large enough. Try increasing the “Expand Bounds” parameter on the Fur Object.

Several colors get combined to give the final hair color. Uncheck “Use Hair Color” if you don't want to tint the result with the “Hair Color” ramp. Also, there are two color maps. The “Root Color Map” parameter only affects the color near the root of each hair. The “Tip Color Map” parameter affects the color near the tip of each hair.

It's working!!! You are right!!! Tanks a lot! One more question please.
how can i make influence between hair color and root color (like between root and tip color)
and what the render settings i need to use for fur rendering. I am not good in Houdini, i work with Maya. Maya doesn't allow use raytracing (i mean it is not recommend) for fur, but in Houdini just ray tracing can take a good result. Are there specific settings for Fur?
Thanx again, you've helped me very much!!!

The “Blend Color Maps” ramp describes how to blend the root and tip color maps.

Most of the relevant rendering parameters are in the “Sampling” tab of the Mantra ROP and “Shadows” tab of Light Objects. As a start, consider adding Depth Map shadows and turning on multi-segment motion blur by enabling “Allow Motion Blur” and setting “Geo Time Samples” to 2 on the Mantra ROP. There are a few posts in the forum about tweaking these parameters.
