Hello everyone. I am a student user of Houdini. I have encountered some problems that I cannot fix. I would appreciate it if anyone could offer some help.
I have downloaded the learning edition (Houdini Master Non-Commercial) off the official website (10.554) a while ago and have been using it perfectly fine on my Windows 7 Professional platform.
Last week, my computer suffered in a hardware issue and was sent to repair and reformat. My internal hard disk was also replaced. When I returned home, I installed my Houdini copy again on my Windows 7 Professional. That was when my problems started.
When I first ran my Houdini, many parts of my interface were covered by black or white boxes (001.jpg). The weird part was, when I clicked on the toolbars (parameters, /obj, etc.) on the right side, they turned back to normal. However, when I clicked on the main View window on the left, random red, blue, and green planes would appear (002.jpg) and they wouldn’t go away. Meanwhile, the key frame interface remained covered by a black box. Last but not least, the rendering screen was also messed up. I tried testing it and the pop-up windows, again, was covered by a black screen (003.jpg). It was absolutely impossible for me to work on my assignments.
Has anyone encountered these problems before? I wonder if it was my new hard disk’s problem, but what else could it be? How can I make it back to normal? Any immediate assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like your video card imploded, what kind of video card do you have? Have you reinstalled your drivers for it?
Hi Ratmann. Thank you for your reply. What do you mean by that?
I will check the video card after I return home. I am not sure why this is happening. It worked fine before and my computer is only 6 months old. Are you suggesting that it was caused by the replacement of hard disk?
Thank you.
