It does not have Physics in the released version, but we're aiming to have that ready quite soon; watch the Changelog/Journal and daily builds.
Cool!

Does the stage manager in 20.5 support using physical effects when moving assets? I didn't see this option. If it does, that would be great.
And can we replace the asset now?

I switched to opengl,if you use the new stage manager,Vulcan will become very very slow and noisy.

I'd like to say nice update but copernicus froze 5 times already and in a scene with a lot of fog neither vulkan nor opengl shows anything but solid colors. I guess it'll be alright in a few iterations. Also, no serious color correct nodes? Really ?
Yeah.no color correct nodes,that's a surprise.

It's quite crazy that you need to know the inner most category of a hotkey binding to search for it.
Now you need to know some obscure names like "Modeling Viewer/Input Selector Triggers" (how many people know what selector triggers are before 20.5?) to set a simple hotkey.
Who came up with this design? I really hope it was a programmer's idea, not someone with a title of UX designer...
You can use ctrl+shift+alt+left click to quickly set one command's hotkey.

In my test, the variance mode is slower than uniform mode. Why?
How many pixel samples were you rendering with?
variance oracle only really benefits final-frame rendering when large sample counts are used, otherwise the overheads associated with it will probably outweigh the benefits.wanglifu
And we can't download the daily builds?
Not yet, they'll be ready in approx 1-2 weeks
I use 256 samples because I can't see much improvement even when I increase the number significantly. Do you mean we should turn off the variance mode in this situation?"

I did a few more render tests with XPU ray-trace
What driver are you on?
If you're on a 555+ driver, then you'll get the NVidia "Shader Execution Reordering" feature (new hardware in the ADA generation of GPUs)
Hi,we still don't have one option to delete or rename these presets.

The newly designed node info panel in H20.5 and the previously introduced render status panel both look modern and appealing, which shows that SideFX has the aesthetic sense and capability to create good designs. But why do so many parts of Houdini still look so outdated and unattractive? The multi-colored icons and the 90s-style design elements are everywhere.
Why can't SideFX invest some resources and time to make the entire software look more modern? Isn't this important at all for attracting new users?

Has there been any development on this limitation? +1 for us as well, not being able to mix more than 2 shaders is a deal breaker for building complex materials in Karma.
Nope,H20.5 still has this limitation.

Hopefully you don't have an animated focus target, because good luck with that.
Honestly, you're likely way better off importing an animated camera from /obj than attempting to animate it in Solaris.
Thanks,i will try this setup.

I need help using an empty object as a parent to control the camera movement in Solaris, while also being able to see the camera's position and various handle information after it moves, just like in C4D. The frustum handle in Houdini is still at infinity, which makes it very difficult to use. Why is it so cumbersome to animate cameras in Houdini?
