Hello guys,

I am very new to Houdini. I am using H13.
I'm trying to create a point normal for a sphere and it doesn't seem to be displaying the normal. I've added the “Point” attribute to the sphere and selected “Add Normals” and put in a value of 10 on the Z axis. I've also toggled Display Point Normals but nothing seems to be changing.

I've done the same for a cube, and I'm getting the results that I want.
I would really appreciate if anyone could help me out and figure what's wrong.

Thanks!

Try setting the sphere to polygons.

How do I change this?

**UPDATE**

Figured that, I got this (see attached).

What I want is just 1 point normal from the center of the sphere. Is that possible?

Yes, Houdini can make one point at the centre with this perfect expression:

put this into an AddSop to create the point, the attach a PointSop to create the normal
