Hi,

If i change my view to all 4 viewports and create some geometry i cant see anything in the persp view. I am just wondering can i frame selected objects in views using a keyboard shortcut.

Thanks

Try “F” for frame
or “H” for home

is there a way to “show safe frame” (in 3dsmax lingo)? i.e. have the viewport mark the area that will be rendered…

In H8 you can set up your own geometry to be shown through the camera view.
in H7 you are stuck with only one safe frame size. It's turned on with display settings in the viewport.

Space_bar + “g” works for me.
Though, somedays, if I want to super turbo framing I hold down space and shift and f and g and h, and press really hard.

To see the Safe Area guides, press space+d and there's a “safe area” button down the bottom of the Guides & Markers panel.

cheers,
ben.

Sorry should have said

“f” is for frame - ie don't rotate the view doesn't need the shift key
“h” is for home - ie align with axis - again does need the shift key

and I forgot “g” which does the same as “h” not sure why there are two keys for the same thing.

The easy way to find out is to read the Ctrl+right mouse menu while in the View tool. ‘g’ is for homing on the selected geometry only.
