Hi all,
I am new to Houdini and a little confused by the Indie licence that I have.
I would like to export ocean tools data for use in c4d scenes (rendering in vray)
And am in the process of choosing which H tools to use for this task.
So far I have had some positive success with alembic exports of DOP solver fluid geometry.
But I would like to make a larger surface of water for a very large pool and trying to avoid the massive particle sims costs.
In theory the ocean surface and guided ocean are ideal tools to use, but I don't fully understand the pipeline (if there is one) between houdini and c4d. Is it possible to directly import an ocean surface as an asset into c4d? Or is it a task of exporting the displacement channel in the material?
I am happy to work with displacement, but am a little confused about the limitations of baking maps (as image sequences) with my indie licence. Is this limited to 1920x1080?
many thanks
exporting ocean tools to c4d
