Hi folks,

Please check out the attached .hipnc for your consideration.

In it, i have a camera track happening over 240 frames.

If i now change my frame amount to 500 frames, i get the same track happening more slowly, over 500 frames.

But perhaps i don't want this. Perhaps i start with 240 frames, create my track, then decide i need more frames at the end for something else, so i increase the number frames in my scene to 500. But i still want my initial track to happen over the first 240 frames.

So my question is: where in Houdini is it set over which frame range a follow path will happen?

Perhaps i want several separate follow paths to happen in one scene:

1st: over 1-240 frames
2nd: over 300-420 frames
3rd: over 400-500 frames

So basically i'm asking: how do you make a follow path independent of the number of frames in your scene?

Thanks! ……… D

OK, for any other noobs wondering the same thing, you need to do:

camera node > constraints > path

Right-click on “position”: delete channels

Now you're free to set the start and end points (or any other points) of the path where you like (in time) and animate between them.
