Apologies for a really dump question. I do not think I do, but asking because I am playing safe.

I am about to reset my windows and re-install Houdini on the same computer. Do I need to return my licence, reinstall windows and put the licence back? No hardware is changing at all.

Probably yes, but if you give your computer the same name and install the same OS, maybe not.

Yes you do need to return your licenses before reformatting. @Enivob is correct if you keep the same name and OS you might get lucky, and everything will still work. To be on the safe side and not have to go through support I would strongly suggest returning before reformatting.

as someone who has done this twice, once without and once with returning license let me tell you returning license is the way to go, far less hassle
