Hi there!
Still pretty new to Houdini and trying to get a procedural pipeline for auto UVs. I've been using the Labs Auto UV node but I'm getting a lot of overlapping results. Based on how often I see this node being used in tutorials, I gather that this is an issue that more experienced artists deal with regularly so my question is: How you you all deal with the overlapping results that the node gives? I've played around with the settings quite a bit but haven't found anything that gives me non-overlapping uvs. The closest I've gotten is by bringing the merge threshold down to 0 but then I wind up with basically one UV shell per prim which isn't helpful.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Here is a screenshot (default settings of the node) where you can see the overlap that I'm talking about.
