I know all you big time Hollywood producers would never dream of doing such a thing, but it would be nice once in awhile to just save a beauty pass as a PNG/TIFF without an alpha channel, so my background plate is visible without further post processing. Any hints?

It's not possible that I know of. Most likely has to be done in a post-process.
