Unable to get regular octagonal pattern using polybevel

I am following this tutorial which covers creating of interesting patterns using grid and polyextrude.

At 3 min 43 seconds in the video, the tutor is able to create very clean organized, octagon based tiling pattern.




I did the same process, but my tile module is very jagged and asymmetrical, even though I use the same values. What should I do to resolve this?

Hey proceduralist,

you have to set the slide on ring edges parameter to always.

Awesome! Thanks a lot! That worked! Hmmm...that's also quite unusual. The tutor in the video has set it to auto and still it works for him. Is it something to do with the Houdini version? He is using 18 and I'm on 19.
