Anyone know how I can combine meshes A + B and force a re-triangulation of B to incorporate the new points added by A and thus making D?

It seems that you only want to have triangles. So you could utilize the divide sop and try its different toggle buttons.

That was my initial thought, but after unioning A + B, dividing the result just ends up with C. I assume I need something other than Boolean Union that would cut the new points from A into the edges of B's triangles.

Although, after trying again to union then divide, it seems only some of the points divide correctly.

I've baked out some example geo and loaded it into a new file where some points work, others don't. Look around the junctions when toggling the divide sop. I'm using Houdini Indie. I'm assuming a hiplc file can also be opened in the full version. Appreciate the help!

The triangulation didn't work on some points because the mesh wasn't connected there. there was a super tiny gap. I fixed it with a peak node. take a look. btw, you don't have to export not changing geo for every frame.
