Hi,

I am trying to use Attribute Noise to displace points positively and negatively along the Y Axis only centred at 0 and can't work out how to do it. Think of hills and valleys.

Have ticked Noise Along Vector, the Vector Attribute is N which means the points are displaced along both X and Z as well as Y which is not what I want. I have tried a Vector Attribute of V.Y and V with no joy.

Always have this slightly frustrating thing with Houdini where the Node seems to do 90% of what I want and then the 10% proves so difficult that I end up resorting to VEX or Python.

Any help really appreciated!

Many thanks,

Shaun

Use a vector noise, zero-centered, press the XYZ button to the right of the Amplitude parameter and scale the X and Z components to 0.
