Nine out of ten times Houdini crashes to the desktop when I create a new scene after working for a while, is this a known issue or just me ?

I had a similar problem. Houdini also crashed for me initially. In my case, it was due to the motherboard.
I would have your computer undergo various tests.

Succes!

Hey thanks, it's only Houdini and most of the time, just when I create a new scene. Other then that my system is very stable.

So I suspect it's not a motherboard or other computer issue. But then, I could be wrong of course...

I started having crashes constantly in H. Nothing else. flip sims which were normally solid would crash. Turned out to be the Mobo, or rather the stress the defaults were putting on the 13900k cpu. I found a reddit post linking to intel's reccommended voltage and current limits rather than the OTT mobo defaults solving his instabilities. Worked, no more crashes and CPU runs MUCH cooler.
