Hey god folks of Houdini,

This is what I wanna go for;

This is where I am at -

I am trying to use find shortest path.
But some points in the mesh are being left behind. I want to cover all of them going downward.
I have also tried using for each loop, to experiment.

Clearly need some guidance or tips.
Am I working on the wrong thing to achieve my goal?
Is there something else I should try?

Would love to hear any inputs!

Also attaching the Apprentice file I am at.

Why don't you check the post after you write on the forum?
Images are not shown, and a model file should be attached with the hipnc file.

Here's a different approach using Boolean Shatter and then converting the seams to curves:

Okay, so this is what I realize.
I want to simulate growth downward on the surface.
This might seem way beyond my limits. But I still want to attempt it.
To achieve the look I wanna go for.

I would love any hints or guides.

Wish me luck or guide my journey my good friends.

ps- I can totally sculpt this. But in the spirit of Houdini and its madness, I persevere.

Hi,

You can also trace flowlines on arbitrary geometry using this technique:
