Mouse wheel not working correctly, corrupting the panels

I switched to Manjaro because it's KDE based, and last time I checked, Houdini preferred to live under KDE for some elements of /stage, for example: dragging textures or objects in Stage Manager / Material Linker wasn't working correctly, it was extremely lagging, making them unusable, under some Gnome desktop (Linux Mint)
Now running under KDE, those problems are absent, but some other problems have appeared, which are even worse: the mouse wheel is no longer working in some UI elements; I noticed it first in the File dialog;
It sometimes also gets much worse; polydoctor SOP gets instantly corrupted, to the point that I cannot even delete it and drop another one; sometimes also random nodes get their parameters pane corrupted with one mouse wheel event.

As a data point, I also tried this on a less powerful, but more recent workstation with a non NVIDIA card, namely a: Radeon Pro WX7100; and those problems don't exist; It's basically the same Linux installation, except for the video card that is an AMD one.

I know that the mouse wheel events are not consumed by something between Houdini and the mouse device, because some UI elements work correctly, typically the 3D views always work, and they are clearly received by the parameter pane, because this is what is causing the corruption.

Can someone give me an example of a setup which currently works ? Logic tells me it's related to: nvidia v: 580.105.08

Problematic setup:

Also, the problems disappear on that machine using the Qt5 version:
