With Mantra you can light a scene from a pyro fire volume by linking its output to a Geometry Light.

Is there an equivalent of using a light in this way in Karma to use the fire to light the scene (other than just using global illumination from the fire)?

As the fire flickers and intensifies, it would be useful to have the light intensity automated from its emission, rather than using standard point lights scattered about.

You can use geometry lights [www.sidefx.com], they work with volume sources

Thanks Thomas. I tried it using Karma renderer node but not using Solaris. It did not work as it did for Mantra. Perhaps I need to try it in Solaris?
