Houdini can't open past the splash screen March 19, 2018, 2:14 p.m.
Hello, I've been having problems opening Houdini 16.5.0.405 apprentice on windows 10. At first it shows the splash screen and then opens a window with the title “Anonymous Usage Statistics” and freezes there. The program no longer responds and the only option is to close it from the task manager.
I opened the “houdini.env” file and added “HOUDINI_ANONYMOUS_STATISTICS = 0” and I no longer have to go through that usage window. But now it opens a blank window with the title “Start here” with the same problem as the statistics one with the only difference that this time it does not even appear on the task manager.
I opened the “houdini.env” file again and now added “HOUDINI_NO_START_PAGE_SPLASH = 1”. And now the splash screen opens and when it dissapears nothing happens at all. The houdini process in the task manager slowly reduces processing usage until it reaches 0 and then it just stays there not doing anything until I close the task.
The PC it is installed is a laptop with an intel i3 3217U with intel HD graphics 4000 and 4 gb of ram. This is the first time Houdini runs on this pc since it was installed.
