Building proceedural road assets for Unreal with Houdini July 19, 2018, 5:06 a.m.

Hi guys,

I'm working at an automotive studio which is really pushing Unreal Engine stuff and to speed up our workflow, I'd love to be able to create digital assets such as roads, race tracks with stadiums etc. I've searced on google and a lot of the proceedural road creation stuff is very old. There's a tutorial series on CMIVFX.com about it but I think the tutorial is from at least 4-5 years ago and as everyone knows, Houdini has changed a lot since then.

Does anyone who has these tutorials or does anyone know if buying them would be worth it, or would I find myself getting stuck on many occasions due to Houdini's changes?

Thanks Jeff! I've been looking over your file and trying to work out what's going on. I have a little bit of understanding but there's a couple things I'm not sure about. Am I correct in assuming that the sim in your file is generating vortices already and I use them to drive the smoke?
