Extract standalone docs? Aug. 19, 2009, 5:59 p.m.
The doc server is running beautifully. It's a bit slow, but technically working as expected.
Now is there a way to change Houdini to point to a custom url for documentation, instead of “localhost”? We specifically want an environment variable for this. For example, Maya has a $MAYA_HELP_URL we are pointing at our documentation servers.
It looks like if you can use the embedded html viewer you can manually set the root. But we are not using the embedded html viewer, and want to control it at a facility level, not with user settings.

Awesome. This could work!

Is there an extracted version of the docs that can run without requiring a licensed Houdini?
I let curl run overnight, but it didn't get too far crawling. The server response time is not that great, and before long Houdini ran out of memory.
