Learn how to use Geometry Brushes [BSP] from Unreal Engine with Houdini Engine and how to use them as an input for a building generator. The building generator is included in SideFX Labs so you don't have to build it from scratch. The tool is fast and can, in realtime, convert the geometry brushes into nice looking buildings based on custom modular models. To import BSP brushes you will need to have the Houdini Engine V2 for Unreal.

Great tutorial and big thanks as usual!

And how you make this fast merge connection ?)

    • Simon_V 3 years, 10 months ago  |

Thanks! To fast merge nodes, select all the nodes for the merge and hold the ALT key and drag with your mouse the outputs of a node.

    Hey simon,

Would you be able to elaborate on the scale aspect of this?

My modules in unreal are 50x300x300, and I'm not seeing similar behavior

Oh I think I actually just figured it out. Lol

Was using the wrong dimensions within the building utility module.

Changed it from 1 to 3 and it looks good.

Will have to figure out how to make something like this user facing for a potential workflow.

      Thanks again for the tutorial!

    Hi, Simon!

Why I don't have option "Create Versioned Digital Asset" - http://joxi.ru/VrweYkNt4J1OD2

How I can turn on this?

    • Simon_V 3 years, 7 months ago  |

Make sure to use Houdini 18.5 and also have the SideFX Labs latest version, then you should see that option.
If it is still not there then the normal "Create Digital Asset" will work, they are very similar. The version digital assets makes it easy to save new version of a digital asset. (Like Tool::1 , Tool::2 , Tool::3 ,...)

Simon I have again a question. Why Box Brush and BSP_House have the same location coordinates ? http://joxi.ru/brRnewGcOd0QPr When I move Box Brush move and BSP_House.

I figured out what's the matter.

Hi, can it use to Unity?

    • Simon_V 3 years, 1 month ago  |

Yes, it will work in Unity with some tweaks

  • pedrohugorm 2 years, 10 months ago  |

Was there a change on it?

When I create a box intersecting the other box the walls have gaps.
Also there are walls inside. It seems the tool changed from what you have in the video.
Also the corners don't get created as neatly as what you have in the video - It tries to put two corner geometries side by side.

    How to proceed?
