Playing with Arches

Welcome to this tutorial series about creating arches in Houdini for your video-games! You can find all the files and more tutorials on our website.

1: Mathematics and Placement

In this first part of our Playing with Arches series, we will go over some cool mathematics and magic in VOP-networks to generate our procedural arches and placing them along a curve. This will be the base of our HDA (Houdini Digital Asset)!

2: Thoughts to Geometry

In part two of the series we will be using the wire frame, made in last video, to create geometry. Doing this allows you to have a very flexible system which is open to your art direction!

Feike is always eager to help, but getting a good idea of the different solutions first. As a graduate of IGAD (International Games Architecture & Design) in The Netherlands with half a decade of experience with Houdini, he currently enforces building techniques using procedural design. He loves teaching and exploring problems from both the artistic as the math-driven side of things to get to the desired results. Teaming up with Ivo he co-founded Dokai, and is loving everything there is about sharing environmental design for games, in a procedural way.

@3:47 you promote a parameter, I am unable to find this option. I am using v18.5 All I see is the "Tab Menu" with the list of available nodes.
