Lost Boys School of VFX
Vancouver, Canada
Lost Boys differs from traditional educational institutions in it’s hands-on, project based curriculum within a studio environment. Small class sizes nurture strong learning relationships between students and mentors. Each student has access to a full time workspace and high-end workstation. There are also several screening areas including a theater, a recording room, and a student lounge. The Effects Technical Director (FX TD) Diploma is designed specifically to meet the demands of the feature film FX industry. Students use real world reference, live action plates, and group project scenarios to develop FX production techniques. Creative fundamentals as well as technical abilities are developed in tandem with world class, personalized mentorship. The primary goals are to produce an industry caliber FX demo reel. A Lost Boys FX demo reel highlights skillsets such as procedural modeling, Mantra rendering, crowd animation, rigid body destruction, environmental FX, and pyro/fluid simulation. This combination of production-style training and specialized, industry focused programs has made Lost Boys graduates the most highly sought out source of new talent within the Visual Effects Industry. They are known for advanced skill sets and keen problem solving instincts. |
