Hi folks,

I am about to create a setup within H12 FX Apprentice, achieving multiple RBD objects from a Particle Emitter. I tried allready several things like

- setup groundplane and emit particles from object
- then turn the partcles into DOPS
- and use the instance POP to use any geometric object

my particles interacting with the groundplane as desired, but the instanced geometry (sphere, cube….) NOT…
Well I am new to Houdini and I hope somebody can explain how to solve those problems in Houdini

maybe I have to setup my workflow different….explanations or/an a sample hipnc file would be nice

thx for listen

You could use a point object for emitting rigid bodies, it requires a SOP object to instance and SOP object points to instance the object to.. there are some limitations to this.. since its instancing to points its it not possible to follow a particle animation..

However there are some workarounds you can use some simple points for instancing the rigid bodies like in the file I've attached.

If you want it to follow particle animation you can try to load a particle sim as a force, I have not done this in the file.
