I have to do a houdini setup for a 5 stage compressor with liquid sealed pistons. What would be to prefered way of implementing the gas particles in the circuit ? Can flip do compressible gases ? Should I use POP particles ? I dont need any smoke rendering. I just need some tracer particles for visualization to be compressed in the pistons and forces through the valves and tubes through the 5 compressing stages. I thought I would as for some opinions for the most elegant solution ..

For now I decided to go for a POP network and fake the liquid seal with simple geometry .. but I would still be interested if flip can be used to simulated compressible media.

You could probably modulate particle massdensity so that when the fluid needs to be compressed you scale it to something closer to air, which would in turn make it more susceptible to compression
