Hi,

How can I have the new particle system start emit particles on frame 20 and have it to end emit particles on frame 30?

I used $FF>20 && $FF<30 in the impulse activation.
Is it possible to save this somehow? To make a controller so I dont need to remenber this expression later on?

Im also looking for a tubulence pop like the one in Blender. Any idea?

You have “Turbulence” option in the “POP Force” node , Also you have some other parameters for controlling it's “Turbulence” noise such as “Swirl Size” or “Roughness” or Attenuation 8)

Just you should append “POP Force” node after “POP Source” in the AutoDopNetwork and set it's “Amplitude” to some bigger number

Thank you Joker.

I guess you mean I should append it after the “source” in the pop network, not the DOP network?
After the “source” I have a node called “wire pops into here”, and that is what you mean I should do right?
I dont have DOP network in this project yet.

It works very well.
The particles that I am tubulencing are emitted from a font. Do you know a good way the make the font go away (dissolve) on a particular frame?
The effect I want to achieve is the font dissolving to a particles that are flying away.

That's not different for DopNetwork or POP Network , The Force node works correctly on both

To create this Font effect you don't need to particles !
Please check Houdini_Mograph_Title_Design tutorial from cmiVFX if you can.
in this tutorial you will learn an interesting way to do that without particle system

Thank you, I will check that out!
Do you know of a way to make a font disappear/dissolve to nothing? I guess I will need to know that for other projects as well.

This is a very simple way to do that without particle systems , maybe it can help you , but for more detail and create really cool effect , check cmiVFX tutorial later, that's really perfect tutorial 8)

Thank you very much!

I just think I made my self a little unclear.
Im only asking for a very basic thing; having a font (no particles, just pure text) disappear / dissolve to nothing.

For particles and stuff like that we have the creation frame, but for a simple font I cant figure how to make it dissolve to nothing.

In a compositing software its as easy as keyframing the opacity from 100% to 0%.

I don't know what do you want to do exactly !
If you just wanna dissolve you Font , So you can use COP Network in the Houdini too.

But if you wanna fade your Font in the 3D space with special effect on specify frames , you can use these two samples in attached file :?

Hi Again,

I dont know how to express myself clearer, but I simply want to dissolve the text from 100% to 0% visibility.

Im not looking for some fancy wipes made up from a bunch of nodes.

Can anyone please help me with this very basic task?

So why don't you use Opacity parameter in the Materials !? :?
