Hi,
I am new to the Houdini forums and i am currently working on a project which envolves a gun that discharges bullet casings. At the moment i have geometry that is instanced to a particle system for the casings, what i am trying to do now is have a second particle system for a smoke trail coming out of the casings. I am able to get the smoke for the first casing to emit like it is suppose to however for the casings that follow the particles are already birthed. It looks as if the particles are at the same frame number for each casing as the original.
Thanks
attaching a particle sytem to instanced objects

Al,
It sounds like what you need is a frame offset. When birthing your casing particles you can attach a Origin attribute with the index set to $F. This will attach the frame number a particle was birthed at to the $ORIGIN attrib.
btw, sounds like a cool effect i'd like to see what you get together with it!
