Hello
Houdini show me an error when I save to disk cache. The cache has frame range and it works with the first 42 frames, in frame 43 Houdini shows an error and doesn't continue.

This is the error:
Error running callback:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
  File "C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1/HOUDIN~1.600/houdini/python2.7libs\houpythonportion.py", line 1287, in decorator
    return func(*args, **kwargs)
  File "C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1/HOUDIN~1.600/houdini/python2.7libs\hou.py", line 41397, in render
    return _hou.RopNode_render(*args, **kwargs)
OperationFailed: The attempted operation failed.
Error: Cook error in input: /obj/pyro_import/explosion_cache/cast_attributes.

My working environtment is:
  • Windows 10
  • Houdini 16.0.600
  • Saving files in the hard drive of PC (no SSD) with 200GB free.
  • The path is writable

I tried to save cache the file cache to external hard drive too, but I haven't been lucky.
I don't understand what is the problem. Any idea?

Cheers

Do those 42 frames take up your free space? (just have to ask…)
What kind of files are you trying to cache?
Are they .sim files or .bgeo.sc files?
Can you post the file that causes the problems?
Using Houdini Indie 20.5
Windows 11 64GB Ryzen 16 core.
nVidia 3060RTX 12BG RAM.

Thanks for replying @Enivob.

Wow, It's embarrassing. I fixed this issue. I had the File Cache(.bgeo.sc file) connected to Dop I/O, and the latter had 42 frames loaded, but not the rest.

My apologies, I'm still a rookie
