Hello everyone

I am a beginner in Houdini, so I bought a tutorial I found on this site “houdini vol 1” I got to the part where I have to save my work. To do this it makes me go through the “flipbook” I enter my values of frames, then I record in .jpg, it must then register me from image 1 to image 300 (for me). But the problem here is:
When I am the procedure indicated, it saves me a single image, so I can not read my animation.

How do I tell the flipbook to register ALL frames?

Thanks in advance friends houdinien

Name your files something like flip$F4.jpg to get a sequence ($F is the frame number, 4 is the zero padding to use, such as 0001).

I have a new problem .. I realized that the flipbook was not a rendering tool but just a capture sequence of my viewer, the result is that the quality is bad.

I then searched the tools of houdini and I opted for this option: render> creat a node render.

I then checked the “sequence” option. There are then three tabs to fill in strat / end / inc, but when I want to change the “end” box (I would like to replace 240 by 100) nothing changes, the value Remains fixed on 240, and I do not know what the “inc” is.

Anyway I launched the rendering, 1 hour … very long … but it does not matter, what is very serious is that I could not record, houdini ma displayed a error message That the record is bad. In addition I would have liked to save it in .png or another format to have only the videos of my animation but … Houdini stopped working.

So I have a couple of tears left and I am here again to ask for your help.

Thank's you all

Delete the channel on the start and end parameters (ctrl-shift left click), then you can enter a value directly. The green color means that the value is coming from a channel. By default the mantra rop will set the frame range to the scene's frame range, with $FSTART and $FEND expressions to get the scene start and end frames. Changing the scene frame range will automatically change the render output range when these expressions are in place. “inc” (increment) is usually 1, meaning render each frame. inc 2 is every other frame, 3 is every third frame, etc.

I suggest familiarizing yourself with the software documentation a bit more when you encounter difficulties with basic interactions.

If you continue to have difficulties with errors, attach your scene file, and the error messages to your post if possible. It can be nearly impossible to guess what can go wrong without insight into your work files.

Thanks for your interest in Houdini,

Thank you jsmack for taking the time to answer me, and also quickly, I appreciate.

Your solution to remove the channels has worked again .. thanks

It is true that for things as basic it will be necessary that I refer with the documentation of the software but the problem is that I do not know where to look, I have been searched in the section “rendered” but I did not Found the solution to my problem …

Yes I was stupid not to have taken a screenshot about my concern but … I did not want to redo 1h of rendering

If the problem persists i will send a screenshot, thanks again!
