Hi,

I'm trying to make a crochet character and I have placed some curves on a 3D model. Now I want the stitch loop to be repeated around the curves but these stitch loops all point in the same direction instead of following the curves. They also should follow the curvature of the whole model which is close to being a sphere.

Is there a way to give these curves the normals of the original model and to make the stitch loops follow both the normals and follow along the direction of the curve?

You will have to align your normal (@N) and up (@up) as described here: https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/copy/instanceattrs.html. [www.sidefx.com]

The ‘Polyframe’ SOP's “Tangent Name” field takes care of one attribute (along the curve). You could try ‘Attribute Transfer’ SOP to get the “pointing away” vector (your original model's normal). Remember: The orientation of the geometry you're copying/sweeping onto the points matters.

Your file contains too many dependencies for me to open.
