I'm trying to model the front of an old CRT-tube style tv, but I'm stuck trying to make the curved front. Normally I know this kind of shape as a barrel distortion, but searching any searches with ‘houdini’ and ‘barrel’ end up with the wrong Houdini

I managed to subdivide the edges with a Resample, and it feels like it should be possible with a Bend but I can't get the right kind of punched-outwards bulge with it.

What node(s) should I be looking at here?

Thanks.

Easiest thing is probably to just use a lattice to pull the center area out a bit.

Grid > Shelf tool “Lattice” > select the center points of the edit node > translate in Z

Could just cut a large sphere with a box.

Just realised, using a Ray would probably be cleaner and faster.
