What's going on with Polypath/Convert Line?

Digging around in Labs Road Generator/Intersection Solver, found this interesting phenomenon where two polygons can share points(or vertices?) I applied a transform to primitive 0, which raises it('s points) up in the Y direction, but the connecting line to primitive 1 confuses me so much.

It's pretty normal for polygons to be able to share points (however each polygon has unique set of vertices )
it's how most polygonal meshes are constructed
Open poly curves are still polygons, but this also extends beyond polygons, you can have multiple packed prims attached to a single point, etc

Hey Tomas, thanks for the reply!

Now that you mention it, I understand the connectivity a bit better. I usually treat such shapes as single polygons/poly curves so it was quite strange to see it split this way.

Usually for simple nonbranching shapes like this Polypath SOP should recreate the shape as a single poly, would most likely not preserve any prim attrib a or prim groups
