Tree Scatter (.ass): custom Cryptomatte mask per tree?

Hi

I'm making a forest with different trees by scattering points and assigning them a .ass file to each with the s@instancefile as shown here (Example 3 at the bottom):

I end up exporting a single .ass containing all trees that weighs a few megabytes (but represents billions of polys!).


Once I browse that forest point cloud (.ass) in Maya with a standin, the forest renders nicely. My problem is there's no way of changing the leaves colors in Nuke. I rendered all cryptomatte Arnold can ouput and my trees are all considered as one single object.

Is there some attribute I can have on the points so they affect the cryptomattes?
