Pivot Transform issue

When I select some points, then transform the Pivot by hitting "insert" and rotate these points around the Pivot, and then leave the Edit Points mode, the points "jump" to a different place as soon as I want to edit them again, screwing up the previous edit.

Extremely annoying.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug ?

Thanks,

R.

I can reproduce this. Clearly a bug.
On a side note, look for "volatile handle-geometry detached mode" in the hotkey manager (Houdini context) and assign a hotkey to it. It's transient, i.e. you can temporarily activated it by holding it pressed. I use 'X' as it's close to shift/ctrl which are used for picking a position/orientation reference (point/edge/poly).
I don't know why SideFX doesn't expose this feature on the RMB menu. I have a suspicion that many users don't know about this very useful feature.

edit: might not be a bug - after you press 'commit transform' button on the edit SOP, it no longer snaps back.
Again, for modeling purposes, there's no need (actually not advised) to use the Pivot mode.
Either way, report it and see what Support says.

Thanks, I'll report it. Not very userfriendly if you have to press "commit transform" after every edit.

While modeling in XSI I use the pivot all the time, how else rotate around a specific point or slide along an edge, very handy.

Thanks for the hotkey tip btw.
