Hello everyone. Could someone help me with the following problem. I need to scatter an approximately 10gb alembic, timeshifted.
Whenever i try to do it, it uses waaaay too much memory. The alembic is 10gb so if every frame of it is loaded it should still use around 10gb max. I cached the result and it ended up being like 500gb.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
How to scatter timeshifted alembic without crazy memory use?

Not necessarily, The alembic format is really good at making small files. If the topology is constant, then it will only record it once. Making copies of the geometry that are time shifted will result in copies of the topology, which will inflate the file.
