Snapping to midpoints and vertices for moving of boxes?

I am trying to make a system like where if I want to move a box, it can get snap to the midpoint of another box. Usually when doing some operations graphically by moving the mouse, like painting or selecting faces, the nodes or the parameters get made automatically. Is there any way for doing it for box arrangement like shown in the video?

I can't find any method so far that involves moving with a base point and a destination point.

Hey proceduralist,

you have to use a combination of multi-snapping set to midpoint and the volatile detach handle mode. select the edge with ctrl to only align translation and not rotation.

Thanks. I have enabled snapping and am able to snap to points but not yet for midpoint. I'll study about volatile detach handle node to follow your process completely.

Great tip, @CYTE! I didn't know about this trick and it always infuriated me that I need to reset rotations after aligning the manipulator.
