Hello,

I'm working on a Vellum simulation of some soft pillows.
This [www.cgtrader.com] is one of the pillows.

I want to create strut constraints on the seams of the fabric's patches to pull them inside and give them a bit more strain. So I made an edge group of them and inserted that to the constraint node's geometry group and target group.
But apparently this doesn't work well as soon as the mesh's points are not utterly symmetric distributed.

Here you see the edge group is all around the pillow, but there are only few irregular resulting struts.

I looked for a way to give more tolerance to the normals, but there are very few parameters in the constraint node's strut search section, and I only found ways to decrease the strut number even further.

Can you tell me why the struts are not created as expected? And do you know a way to create strut constraints on more or even all of the chosen points?

I hope you have an idea here, thanks in advance!

strut constraints are just distance constraints created randomly by raycasting inside of the geo

so if you need to create them more specifically, you can create custom line primitives between points you want and set those to distance constraints and configure all their properties

or maybe you can hijack Stitch Points Constraints (with Use Closest Location on Primitive off)
and define them between 2 of your opposite seam groups, if those groups are ordered in the same way and have same amount of points they will create nice parallel constraints

Thank you, I will try that, too.

Meanwhile I found out, if I set constraints per point quite high and direction jitter at a value very low above zero then I get a decent amount of constraints.
