I am currently trying to install Houdini 20 on Linux Mint 21.2, and all is well until I try to change the license server to the one provided by my school using the license administrator's add custom server function. Attached below is the error window which pops up.
I use Forticlient VPN to connect to their private network which hosts the license server, and using the
host <server>
command in CLI returns the correct internal IP-address, so this isn't a connection issue. Also, I know for a fact that the server works because I am able to activate Houdini without issues on Fedora 38 using the exact same method I described, only the Houdini version differs (19.5).
Since there appears to be no direct solution to my problem, can someone tell me where in the filesystem the hostnames are stored? Maybe I can link the server manually.
