I still get this error on XP using a dual core Opteron CPU - UT_NetPacket::write: No such file or directory

I have since switched to Linux with Apprentice HD, and this problem doesn't exist, but I did notice if you use an H8 Mantra node in your ROP network the error goes away in XP. I believe it's directly related to H9 Mantra and threading.

If you search this forum there's plenty of posts regarding it and I don't think it's ever been officially fixed. Most suggestions are disabling your firewall, or toggling off Mantra > Properites > Render > Use Max Processors.

Hi!
Actually I tried H9 on Ubuntu 64bit and mantra crashes too (tried two PC setups, AMD 4400 and Intel quad core), it starts to become a really annoying issue, multithreaded rendering simply crashes on xp and linux 64 too.
Tried the -j0, -j4, turned off the “use max processor” checkbox on mantra node.
The only reliable way was to render with single processor, or using -n 4, but that is way too expensive.

Any chance for fixing this in near future?

Very strange. I''ve been using H9 on Ubuntu 64 (Fiesty 7.04) for a while and I've never had this problem. I thought it was only in XP, but I guess not.

it renders fine for me too when test rendering single frames, but when i launch a sequence it stops at random frames. (linux)

on xp i get random crashes even with single frames, also render region crashes too

I have been fighting with the same thing. XP and Hyperthreading. It never did this until last week. No changes on the computer. I'd sure love to know why it hasn't been fixed.

Any comment on this from the Dev side please?

win 64 bit is pretty stable on rendering now. The same scene with win 32 crashes after a couple of frames. The scene uses about 1.5 gigs of ram to render.

They said it was fixed in 9.0.799. I downloaded 9.0.800 and it is working perfectly so far for me.
