Hello,

in Houdini 8 it used to be possible to create a branch in Scene View by pressing “Shift” when selecting the desired operator. Nowhere in help or in the forum I can find how to do this in H9 even though I think it's very useful. Is it actually still possible?

Thanks and greetings!

Currently that functionality has gone missing. I'm hoping it comes back too.

Yep, I noticed this the other day too. Crossing fingers it will come back soon.

Cheers!

I saw this happen in one of the tutorials for H9. The instructor clicked on the output button on the node while holding down shift. Hopefully you dudes already figured this out!

Yeah, but you used to be able to do this in the viewport too.

What does it mean to click an operator in scene view (viewport) then?
Thanks!

well in the old style workflow

1. Select a node in the network editor

2. in the viewport shift + tab + blast sop

3. select some polys and RMB to finish

Back in the network view you would have a new branch with the blast sop in it.
